Follow Through

When did it become out of fashion to follow through on your commitments?

I returned home tonight to find my lawn has not been mowed. Again. I don't like having to spend time thinking about such things. I have a system in place so I don't have to. But it relies on other people doing what they say they will do, in exchange for my money. That, apparently, is the big flaw in the system - depending on other people to do what they agree to do.

It's like men who say they will call and don't. Why lie about it? What purpose does that serve? Why do you feel the need to lie when it's not at all necessary? The logical answer is that some men like to lie (and women too), so best to just chalk that up to lesson learned and move on.

As Mama used to say, "Some people will lie to you when the truth would suit better."

I am continually puzzled by human nature.
